A professional skin treatment during training at MSTA

What is the Level 4 Award in Skin Peeling?

Chemical peels sit at the heart of results-led skincare. Depth, acid selection, skin preparation and aftercare are clinical decisions, and this Level 4 Award trains you to make them with genuine clinical confidence.

MSTA's peel training carries a detail most providers can't offer: we teach with clinical-grade professional brands, including Dermaceutic, the line our own clinics use, so you graduate confident with the products you'll actually work with.

What the award covers

Peel chemistry & depths

Acids, concentrations and pH: what each peel actually does to skin, and how to choose between them.

Skin preparation & protocols

Preparing skin properly, layering safely and adapting protocols to real client skin, not textbook skin.

Hands-on clinical practice

Supervised peel treatments on real clients with clinical-grade professional products.

Aftercare & treatment courses

Structuring courses of peels that compound results and keep clients returning, safely and ethically.

Who this qualification is for

This award suits therapists and aestheticians who want peels done properly on their menu: not a single entry-level peel from a one-day course, but the regulated capability to assess, select and deliver professional peel treatments.

It's also one of the natural next steps after the Level 3 Certificate, and progression continues at MSTA all the way to the Level 5 Award and Level 6 Certificate in advanced chemical skin peeling.

Sold at MSTA through our Skincare Learning Pathways:

Common questions

Do I need a Level 4 qualification to offer skin peels?

Currently, you do not require a Level 4 qualification to professionally deliver skin peels in the UK: with the right training, CPD certification and insurance, practitioners offer peels confidently without one. With that said, practitioners are increasingly investing in a Level 4 peeling qualification to work at greater clinical depth, unlock more advanced products and strengthen their standing with insurers and premium brands.

What do I need before starting?

A regulated Level 3 aesthetics qualification. If you trained through short courses without one, our Access to Brands conversion route gets you the Level 3 credential first, then progresses you here.

Which brands will I train with?

Clinical-grade professional lines, including Dermaceutic, which our own clinics use daily. You learn on the products working clinics actually stock.

How far can I take peeling with MSTA?

Beyond this award, our centres deliver the Level 5 Award in Skin Peeling Treatments and the Level 6 Certificate in Advanced Chemical Skin Peeling, so peeling can become a genuine specialism.
