What is the Level 4 Award in Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning looks simple from the outside, but working a surgical blade across a client's face is a skill that rewards serious, structured training: blade control, skin assessment, contraindications and professional protocols.

This Level 4 Award gives you dermaplaning with a regulated credential behind it, taught hands-on by educators who deliver the treatment commercially every week.

What the award covers

Blade technique & control

Precise, confident blade work: angles, pressure and technique that make the treatment safe and comfortable.

Skin assessment

Which skin benefits from dermaplaning, which doesn't, and how to spot contraindications before they matter.

Hands-on clinical practice

Supervised treatments on real clients under working-clinic conditions.

Combining treatments

Where dermaplaning fits in a professional treatment menu, including how it pairs with facials and peels.

Common questions

Do I need a Level 4 qualification to offer dermaplaning?

Currently, you do not require a Level 4 qualification to professionally offer dermaplaning in the UK: with the right training, CPD certification and insurance, practitioners deliver it confidently without one. With that said, practitioners are increasingly choosing to invest in a Level 4 dermaplaning qualification to deepen their skin-assessment and combination-treatment skills, and to strengthen their standing with insurers and premium brands.

What do I need before starting?

A regulated Level 3 aesthetics qualification. If you don't hold one, our pathways build it in first.

Where is it taught?

Through our London academy, with the same medic-led, hands-on approach as every MSTA programme.
